We Just Rewrote 25 Articles: Here’s What Changed

We just rewrote 25 articles. Some were from 2012. The SEO world has changed. Our advice needed to catch up. 🔄

Why We Did This

We’ve been publishing SEO content since the 90s. That’s a lot of articles. And honestly? Some of them were embarrassingly outdated.

Articles referencing Google+ (dead since 2019). Tips about keyword density (hasn’t mattered in over a decade). Advice about link building tactics that would get you penalized today.

So we went through everything and rewrote what needed rewriting. Not just cosmetic updates – complete rewrites based on what actually works now, informed by 30 years of testing.

The Bigger Point

SEO advice has a shelf life. What worked in 2012 can get you penalized in 2025. What “everyone knows” is often outdated by the time it becomes common knowledge.

We’re committed to keeping our content accurate. When we’re wrong, we update. When things change, we change with them.

If you’re reading advice from 2015 on another site, be skeptical. The SEO world has changed dramatically – and most old content hasn’t kept up.

The Foundation

All of these updates are informed by our core document: SEO Myths vs Reality: What We’ve Actually Tested. Forty claims, tested against 30 years of real-world experience.
