Native migration. Clear results.
MCP Abilities – Site Migration Bridge gives an authorized WordPress client seven abilities for native site exports, imports and saved operation results.
Confirm the site and scope
The migration plugin must already be installed and configured. Full exports include supported site files and database records. Imports can replace site data and require explicit approval.
What it does
The bridge connects WordPress abilities to the installed All-in-One WP Migration plugin. Archive creation, content processing and directory cleanup remain native to that plugin. Existing administrator permissions apply.
Choose an export
A full export includes supported site files and database data using native defaults, including post revisions and spam comments. A database-only export omits media, themes, plugins and must-use plugins.
Read ai1wm/status, provide confirm: true and the intended expected_home, then call ai1wm/export-start. Keep its job ID and read ai1wm/export-status until a terminal result is saved. A completed result includes the archive name and byte count.
Seven abilities
ai1wm/status: Read migration availability and backup metadata.ai1wm/export-start: Start a confirmed asynchronous export.ai1wm/export-status: Read the selected export’s last saved result.ai1wm/export: Create an export in the current request.ai1wm/import-url: Import a confirmed archive from an allowed source.ai1wm/import-start: Start a confirmed asynchronous import.ai1wm/import-status: Read the selected import’s saved result.
Read saved status correctly
A running state is the last saved state. It does not prove that a server process is currently active. The bridge does not automatically alter historical jobs or retry an interrupted operation. Verify the archive’s scope and availability before relying on it for recovery.
Version 0.1.6 returns export results after native cleanup, allowing the bridge to save the final state instead of ending the HTTP request during cleanup.
Requirements
WordPress 6.9 or later, PHP 8.0 or later, the WordPress Abilities API and an active All-in-One WP Migration installation. All abilities require manage_options. Existing migration-plugin extension and licensing requirements apply.
Upload and activate the plugin ZIP in WordPress, then connect an authorized abilities client. Start with the read-only status ability.
